Winter Sowing Native Plants Workshop | Hawthorne Hill

Winter Sowing Native Plants Workshop in Elgin
Are you interested in adding native plants to your yard? Winter sowing offers a simple, inexpensive way to start seeds for the spring season. Best of all, this method works well for both beginner and experienced gardeners.
Join Cindy from Making Memories with Butterflies for a relaxed, drop-in winter sowing workshop where you’ll learn how to start native plant seeds using a recycled gallon jug. During the program, participants will have access to several species of native milkweed and other native plant seeds.
Native milkweed plays a vital role in supporting monarch butterflies and other pollinators by providing essential habitat and nectar throughout the growing season. Because of this, planting native species helps strengthen local ecosystems and biodiversity.
Participants may take home up to three seed-filled jugs, while supplies last.
